Course description

With increasing levels of business instability and increased competition, the ability of companies to quickly transform their business processes based on effective management decisions aimed at achieving strategic alignment of their resource potential with the nature of challenges is becoming increasingly important.
External environment.
The profession of business analyst is to analyze the client’s business: find weaknesses and think about how to make them strong. The specialist develops the concept of a solution that can even lead to the modernization of the initial customer request. It will also be right if the business analyst leaves everything in its place, it is often more effective than changing something. Of course, often the customer comes up with his idea, which looks perfect at first glance, then the work of a business analyst will be to determine the relevance and features of the concept. All this is a solid foundation for in-depth study of the discipline “Analysis and modeling of business processes”, as it is a necessity of today, especially for the contingent of information technology specialists for business.
The subject of the discipline
The subject of the discipline “Analysis and Modeling of Business Processes” is the study and mastery of basic concepts, principles and types of analysis and modeling of business processes, understand the place of business analysis in the software development life cycle, and gain practical skills in using and applying different types notations for analysis and description of business needs to improve business in general.
The purpose of the discipline
The purpose of studying the discipline “Analysis and modeling of business processes” is to help students gain knowledge and practical skills of forming an effective business model at different stages of enterprise development.

Formation of knowledge and skills needed to solve business analysis problems using a personal computer and modern software. To form theoretical and practical knowledge on the methodology of analysis of existing business processes, the use of modern tools to improve and effectively implement elements of business analysis in IT. Formation of professional practical competencies on the use of conceptual principles of business analysis, the use of technologies for modeling business processes in order to make informed management decisions.
The main tasks
The objectives of the discipline “Analysis and modeling of business processes” are: study of the basic provisions, concepts and categories related to business analysis and business processes of the company; formation of a set of interrelated competencies in the field of search and implementation of best practices in the formation of business processes of the company; study of the process of continuous improvement of business processes; study of the main aspects of business analyst work in flexible conditions of product development; formation of skills to clarify requirements (business requirements, user requirements, functional and non-functional requirements) and their correct
describe; prioritization of requirements; as well as determining the necessary tools depending on the project and domain.

  • different types of prototyping;

  • clearly formulate goals and objectives, based on available information;
  • analyze business processes;
  • to analyze stakeholders;
  • to plan and organize the main stages of business analysis;
  • find out business requirements, user requirements, functional requirements and non-functional requirements;
  • prioritize requirements;
  • compile Business Model Canvas;
  • determine the scope of work on the MVP;
  • write user story;
  • to build use case diagram;
  • develop a business process model using various tools.
