On February 17, 2023, students of the third year (OP “Finance, Customs and Tax Affairs”) together with the teachers of the Department of Financial Management, associate professors V. Ya. Dubyk, O. R. Zahidna, L. O. Petyk, D. V. Popovych, Shushkova Yu. V. took part in the action “Trench candle – warmth and light for the defenders of Ukraine”. Students of the first and second years of the UFF-11c and UFF-22c groups also joined the action.

The basis for trench candles for the Ukrainian military is a tin, cardboard and wax. As part of the Action, students collected the necessary material and participated in the process of making candles: from cutting cardboard to melting and pouring paraffin. The atmosphere of the event was very friendly and welcoming. All participants were enthusiastic about their work, because they knew that they were working for the benefit of our army. Creating trench candles is what our help is all about. This is an opportunity in wet weather to have a means of heating, heating: light a trench or dugout, boil a pot of water or cook food, dry clothes, keep warm. Trench candles are difficult to put out by the wind, they are not afraid of moisture, they can be lit more than once and you can start a fire even from wet wood. One such candle in a can can burn for about three hours.

We hope that these trench candles will help warm our soldiers. Each made candle is the warmth of our hearts, it is a symbol of gratitude to the Defenders for everything we have thanks to them!

We believe that by our actions we are bringing Victory closer!

Glory to Ukraine! Glory to heroes!
