Mentoring from higher education graduates of the “Information Technologies in Business” ЕPP

Give to get: Why being a mentor is cool!

From March 1 to April 21, 2024, the course “Information technologies in business” from Code Club Lviv for children aged 14-16 years, under the mentorship of Sofya TУMCHYSHYN, a student of higher education under the ЕPP “Information technologies in business” at the Faculty of Finance and Business Management in Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, and Oksana STOROZH from the IT department of Leoteka.

Schoolchildren had the opportunity to learn what artificial intelligence is, how to use it in business, discover the technology of creating their own business, how to turn their business idea into a business project, and develop their own business model. The course consisted of 10 classes, which included both lecture and practical parts, and ended with the “Entrepreneurial Drive” business idea competition among 8 teams for the title of winner.

Such a mentoring practice of higher education students helps them understand their own goals for the future, structures acquired knowledge, develops a personal brand, helps to decide on a profession, realize their social potential (transfer skills, experience, personal impressions), better understand themselves, and also inspires schoolchildren to fruitful education at school, helps to determine career goals, reduce the degree of uncertainty about what to do after graduation, gain relevant professional experience and knowledge and encourages the acquisition of higher education at higher education institutions, in particular, at the EPP “Information technologies in business” specialty 051 “Economics”  at Ivan Franko Lviv National University.
