UniWeek-3.0 at the Department of Public Administration and Business Management

From April 22 to 26, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv successfully held the annual event UniWeek – 3.0, which took place from April 22 to 26, 2024. This large-scale event provided schoolchildren with a unique opportunity to become students for a week and experience the atmosphere of university life.

The Department of Public Administration and Business Management of the Faculty of Financial Management and Business participated in this event for the third time and actively contributed to UniWeek – 3.0 by organizing a series of educational and interactive activities.

Schoolchildren attended a lecture by Professor Hanna Komarnytska on the subject “Electronic Governance and Electronic Democracy,” where they discussed current issues of adaptation to the digital world and the transformation of professions in the context of Industry 4.0.

During a practical session on the subject “Communications in Public Administration,” Associate Professor Olena Reshota, together with 2nd and 3rd-year students, conducted an interactive game aimed at developing communication skills and creative thinking. Participants also successfully passed a summarizing quiz.

Associate Professor Olena Herasymenko organized a seminar on the subject “Theory and Practice of Public Administration,” during which participants solved the problem of choosing a specialty for admission to higher education institutions using the anti-problem method and participated in a team competition using game theory.

Professor Borys Karpinskyi delivered a lecture on the subject “Management in Public Administration,” which was dedicated to the formation and development of public administration in the context of modern state-building and the role of youth in this process. Attention was paid to the leadership qualities of a manager and the basic functions of management in public administration under martial law conditions.

Department Assistant Natalia Paterukha conducted a practical seminar on the subject “Public Management of Social Development” with the participation of Olha Spodaryk, Chief Specialist of the Youth Policy Department of the Department of Youth and Sports of the Lviv Regional Military Administration. Schoolchildren, together with students, developed social projects, received practical advice, and participated in the public defense of their work.

Olha Malinovska invited schoolchildren to a guest lecture on the topic: “Social Responsibility of Business in Lviv Region,” which was delivered by the President of the Lviv Region Employers’ Association, Zenoviy Bermes.

During the lecture, Zenoviy Bermes discussed the importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and how businesses in the Lviv region are implementing CSR practices. He highlighted the role of businesses in contributing to the social and economic development of the region, as well as their responsibility towards the community and the environment.

UniWeek – 3.0 provided schoolchildren with an opportunity to immerse themselves in student life, gain valuable experience and knowledge, and become more familiar with the specifics of studying at the Department of Public Administration and Business Management of the Faculty of Financial Management and Business of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. The event became an excellent platform for promoting the specialty and educational program and attracting future applicants to the university community.
