Опис курсу

The discipline «Quantitative Methods in Economics and Management» is a normative discipline of the cycle of professional and practical training in the specialty 051 «Economics», specialization «Information Technologies in Business», which is taught in the VIII semester in the amount of 4 credits (according to the European Credit Transfer System ECTS).

The purpose of the course is to develop in higher education students the ability to use quantitative methods and economic and mathematical models to analyze economic processes, assess the effectiveness of organizations, forecast the development of socio-economic systems, and make informed management decisions.

Objectives of the course:

  • to form a systematic understanding of the role of quantitative analysis in modern economics and management;
  • to teach how to apply data analysis methods to assess economic processes;
  • to develop skills in building and interpreting economic and mathematical models;
  • to ensure mastery of methods for forecasting socio-economic indicators;
  • to form the ability to optimize resources and justify the choice of economic alternatives;
  • to develop the ability to analyze risks and uncertainty in decision-making processes; to teach how to form reasoned management conclusions based on the results of quantitative analysis.
