Опис курсу

The discipline «Actuarial Calculations and IT Liability Insurance» is an elective academic discipline of the cycle of professional and practical training in the specialty 051 «Economics», specialization «Information Technologies in Business», which is taught in the 3rd semester in the amount of 3 credits (according to the European Credit Transfer System – ECTS).

The purpose of the course is to develop in students a systematic understanding of the principles of insurance and actuarial calculations, as well as the ability to apply actuarial mathematics tools to analyze insurance risks, form tariffs, manage insurance reserves, and assess the financial stability of insurance companies in a digital environment.

Objectives of the course:

  • to familiarize with the theoretical foundations of actuarial calculations and insurance;
  • to reveal the concepts of insurance risks, tariffs and insurance reserves;
  • to teach how to calculate insurance premiums and assess the financial stability of insurance companies;
  • to develop skills in modeling individual and collective insurance cases;
  • to develop the ability to apply actuarial tools for insuring digital products and cyber risks.
