Professional Development of Faculty of Public Administration and Business Management

From March 4 to April 4, 2024, Dr. habil., Prof., Head of the Department of Public Administration and Business Administration of the Faculty of Financial Management and Business of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv Hanna Komarnitska, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor Olena Herasymenko, and PhD in Economics, Associate Professor Olga Malinovska, Dr. habil., Prof. Kateryna Vaskivska, Candidate of Science in Public Administration, Associate Professor Olena Reshota took part in an intensive training course “Progressive Teaching: Intensive from Ostrivtsya”.

This course was aimed at familiarizing teachers with modern methods and tools for creating an effective educational environment. During the four weeks, the course participants studied the following topics:

  • Experience of participation in international projects for modernization of educational content;
  • The quest of modernity: how not to get lost in a chaotic world;
  • Problem-oriented (project-oriented) approach for the generation of post-millennials;
  • Let’s play or encourage: secret chips of interesting online learning;
  • Mental health support: an overview of online resources;
  • Civic education and patriotic education in the educational process;
  • Legal support of academic integrity: realities and prospects;
  • Stay calm – listen to music;
  • How to increase productivity and professionalism in stressful conditions;
  • Tips for easy teaching;
  • How to create interesting interactive presentations in Power Point;
  • Time management: secrets of productivity;
  • Typology of problem people: how to interact with them.
  • Leadership and change management;
  • English as a necessity, not an obligation.

The training on the course was conducted in the form of interactive lectures, practical exercises, and group discussions. The completion of the course was testing. Based on the results of the testing, certificates of completion of the professional development course were issued (1 ECTS credit, 30 hours).

We are grateful for the opportunity to take part in this course. It gives us a lot of valuable knowledge and skills that we can use in our teaching activities. This will help make our classes more interesting, effective, and useful for students.
