Educational hour “Chernobyl – the pain of Ukraine”

On April 26, 2024, the UFF-34s group held an educational hour on the topic “Chernobyl – the pain of Ukraine” (advisor – associate professor of the Department of Financial Management Iryna Yasinovska).
The accident that occurred in April 1986 at the fourth power unit of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant became one of the biggest disasters in the history of mankind. This disaster left irreparable wounds in the hearts of many people and had an extremely large impact on the environment and the lives of millions of people. After the explosion and fire, a radioactive cloud was formed, which covered not only the territories of Ukraine, but also the territories of many European countries – Sweden, Austria, Norway, Germany, Finland, Greece, Romania, Slovenia, Lithuania, Latvia. According to the International Scale of Nuclear Events (INES), this accident was classified at the highest – the seventh level of danger.
Chernobyl became a hard lesson. He reminds us of the need for safety in nuclear energy, the importance of preventing such tragedies.
The event ended with an active discussion and discussion of the topic by the students.
It is worth noting that the holding of such educational hours contributes to the formation of a civic position and activates the participation of young people in the life of society.
