Language is the soul of the nation, its genetic code, many treasures of which our people are proud were born in its depths. There is no nation without its own language, its own unique culture. A person grows up in the atmosphere of his native language to such an extent that it becomes a necessary part of his personality.
International Mother Language Day is not only a reminder of the cultural diversity and multilingualism of the world, but also of the right of everyone to speak their mother tongue in their own country. This holiday, which was announced at the 30th session of the General Conference of UNESCO on February 21, 2000, as the day for the protection of linguistic and cultural diversity, is designed to protect and develop the languages of all peoples of the world.
For Ukrainians, this day is very important and has acquired a special meaning, because by choosing freedom for all citizens of Ukraine, we also free the language from the negative influence of the enemy. In opposition to the Russian occupier, our language united millions of Ukrainians both inside the country and abroad.
As part of the celebration of the International Mother Language Day, group advisors – teachers of the Department of Accounting, Analysis and Control held two educational events.

The adviser of the UFO-41s group, professor Yarema Yaroslav, together with his students, held an educational event called “February 21 – International Mother Language Day!”.

The adviser of the UFO-21s group, associate professor Nataliya Loboda together with her students held an educational event on the theme “International Mother Language Day”.

And as a summary of the two events, it is important to remember the timeless and apt words of the Ukrainian poet Lina Kostenko:
“Nations do not die of a heart attack, first their language is taken away. To know and protect one’s native language is the duty of every person.”
