The educational discipline “Insurance” is designed to provide students with the necessary knowledge required to understand theoretical, methodological and practical skills in the field of insurance relations, to study the essence and forms of risk manifestation, which will contribute to an objective assessment of economic processes, to understand the essence, place and importance of insurance for the successful management of these processes.

The purpose of studying the discipline “Insurance” is to master the theory and practice of insurance, to consistently form knowledge of the insurance market among students, to acquire skills in financial and economic work in the field of insurance, to study the features of the functioning of insurance organizations in market conditions, the conditions for establishing insurance tariffs, which will allow for the effective use of insurance as a mechanism for reducing risks in practical activities.

Objectives of the educational discipline:

– to clarify the objective necessity, essence, functions, principles, and role of insurance in a market economy;

– to highlight the organization and development trends of the insurance market, the functioning of insurance companies, and state regulation of insurance activities;

– to examine the conditions of personal and property insurance, liability insurance, and reinsurance;

– to study the specific features and ways of improving the financial activities of insurers.
