Course description

In today’s conditions of globalization of the world economy and strengthening of the development trends of economic competition, the search for optimal and effective methods of doing business is constantly increasing. Due to this, the search and subsequent identification of the best management solutions in various business areas, as well as their use in personal practice – competitive monitoring – is becoming increasingly relevant for the successful functioning and development of enterprises in various market segments, and is also widely used in the process of developing measures to increase competitiveness enterprise and its entry into new markets of both domestic and international scale. All this is a stable basis for in-depth study of the discipline “Competitive business monitoring”, as it is a necessity today, especially for the contingent of IT specialists for business.

 

The subject of the academic discipline

The subject of the discipline “Competitive business monitoring” is the study and mastery by students of the basic concepts, principles and types of monitoring, as well as the practical principles of using competitive monitoring to improve business by analyzing the activities of competitors and adapting the best examples of its organization.

 

The purpose of the educational discipline

The purpose of studying the discipline “Competitive business monitoring” is to help students perform a comparative analysis of competing firms, analyze their “strengths” and “weaknesses”. Based on the systematically laid out basic provisions of the theory of benchmarking and competitive monitoring in business, use various online services to identify competitors, monitor and analyze their activities based on collected and systematized information about them from social media (blogs, social networks, forums). Formation of knowledge and skills necessary for solving problems using a personal computer and modern software. To form theoretical and practical knowledge regarding benchmarking methodology, features of its application for improvement and effective promotion of business on the Internet.

 

Object of educational discipline

The object of study of the discipline “Competitive business monitoring” is the process of benchmarking at the enterprise, methods and algorithms of benchmarking, the mechanism of benchmarking.

 

Main tasks

The main tasks of the academic discipline “Competitive business monitoring” are: studying the main provisions, concepts and categories related to the functioning of competitive monitoring; formation of a complex of interconnected competencies in the field of search and implementation of best practices in the company’s activities; studying the process of continuous improvement of the organization’s activities; studying the basics of researching the internal and external environment of the organization, identifying opportunities for improvement, as well as identifying innovations for their implementation to ensure the company’s competitiveness.
