The discipline “Banking Management” is a normative discipline in the specialty “Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Market” for the educational program “Finance, Customs and Taxation”, taught in the 2nd semester in the amount of 4 credits (according to the European Credit Transfer System ECTS).

The discipline “Banking Management” is aimed at developing knowledge and skills of higher education students, in particular, the formation of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the organization of banking management in banking institutions of Ukraine, research of the main aspects of the effective work of a banking institution, the formation of a comprehensive banking strategy, the creation of an effective system of formation and use of banking resources, the use of which will contribute to successful learning and future scientific and professional activities.

The purpose of studying the discipline “Banking Management” is to form a holistic understanding of the theoretical and economic approach to the problems, tasks and methods of banking management, as well as the direct study of specific measures for the analysis and management of banking activities.

Objectives of the discipline:

– to give a holistic view of the nature and content of banking management;

– understand the main categories and characteristics of bank management;

– to know the essence, goals and leading principles of banking management;

– to give an idea of the types of organizational structures, management systems in the bank;

– to know the role of planning in the management system and to familiarize with the methodology of the strategic and operational planning process in the bank;

– to form students’ concept of a systematic approach to managing profitability and risks, assets, liabilities, capital and off-balance sheet activities of the bank;

– to teach students how to effectively use financial management tools for the bank’s activities.
