Participation in the online master class from the company Business-Constructor “Talking about money: how much does a mistake in recruiting cost?”

On March 2, 2023, Oksana Vaskiv, a teacher at the Department of Digital Economy and Business Analytics of the Faculty of Finance and Business Management of the Ivan Franko National University of Ukraine, took part in an online master class from the Business-Constructor company “Talking about money: how much does a mistake in recruiting cost?”.

The process of selecting employees directly affects the efficiency of the company.

Everything worth knowing about analytics and evaluation in the process of making important decisions when recruiting employees was discussed at the master class, namely:

  • what is a mistake and what is not?
  • at what stage should we pay attention to influencing factors?
  • stages of finding and evaluating candidates: how long does it really take and how much does it cost?
  • indirect costs of your business: how much does it really cost you to find an employee and how much do you lose if you hire the wrong one?
  • what a business owner or manager should know about the effective search and selection of employees?

The speaker emphasized to the listeners the main mistakes during recruitment, which should be kept and avoided in your business and when building a real “dream team”.

  • hiring friends and relatives;
  • reviewing a small number of job applicants;
  • insufficient detailed testing of the candidate during selection;
  • search for “hybrid employees” who will do everything at once;
  • lack of adaptation and certification system;
  • protracted decision making regarding the candidate. The good ones are quickly sorted out;
    search for candidates only on job search sites;
  • your job is a set of requirements. Remember that everyone wants to hear what you have to offer.

The online master class program was useful for improving the training programs of such disciplines as “Business processes and HR analytics”, “Information systems in management”, “HR manager and recruiter in an IT company (training course)” and ” HR-management”, which are read for students of the educational program “Information technologies in business” of bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
