On February 20, 2023, students of the UFP-22c group, together with adviser Oksana Pikulyk, held an educational hour on the topic “Ukrainian trident as the embodiment of statehood, unity and independence.”

The educational hour is dedicated to National Emblem Day, celebrated in Ukraine on February 19. A golden trident of a special shape on a blue field symbolises faith, strength and indomitability. The princes of Kievan Rus went into battle with him. The seal with a trident was used when approving state documents. The trident was and is a symbol of the struggle for freedom.

The students prepared interesting presentations, which presented the history of the trident as a sign of the Rurik princes, the oldest artifacts with the image of the trident (coins, pendants, signet rings, dishes, manuscripts, tiles), the period of the trident’s oblivion and its revival as the coat of arms of the Ukrainian People’s Republic, the approval of the trident as the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine after the restoration of Ukrainian national statehood in 1992.
