REPORT SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE OF THE UNIVERSITY: SUBSECTION OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION AND PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION

On February 5, 2024, at the Department of Public Administration and Business Management of the Faculty of Financial Management and Business, a sectional meeting was held as part of the 2023 Report Scientific Conference of the Ivan Franko University, which was attended by the department’s teaching staff and graduate students.

The participants of the conference discussed a number of topical issues regarding the results of scientific work at the Department of Public Administration and Business Management in 2023 and directions for the department’s development in 2024. So, they listened to reports on the development of electronic governance in the conditions of the russian-ukrainian war and the features of the information strategy of public authorities, on the directions of staffing of public administrations and the specifics of forming a business strategy in conditions of martial law. We considered specific aspects of the implementation and evaluation mechanism of the Anti-corruption Strategy. They exchanged views on the strategic concept of the activation of the Lviv community in achieving the goals of sustainable development, and also discussed in detail the regulatory and legal support of the administrative-territorial reform in Ukraine, considered the possibilities of innovative management methods in the bodies of executive power and the practice of public interaction with local self-government bodies during martial law and other issues related to public management and administration.In particular, Professor Borys Karpinskyi was heard. about a fundamental discovery made (in co-authorship) in the humanitarian sphere: the phenomenon of legal indifference in public space. The discovery of this phenomenon makes it possible to investigate using unified scientific approaches (at different levels: person-citizen-community-region-state-group of states, that is, to move from the fact of purely everyday indifference to the level of the state and the corresponding threatening consequences of the manifestation: war, genocide, famine, ecocide etc.) and propose reasonable mechanisms for reducing or avoiding the manifestation of the phenomenon through the activation of the state-creating patriotism of nation.
