Participation of teachers of the department of financial management in the IX All-Ukrainian Forum of Local Self-Government
On September 22, 2022, the teachers of the Department of Financial Management, Faculty of Finance and Business Management of the Ivan Franko Lviv National University Assoc. V. Dubyk, Assoc. О. Zahidna, Assoc. L. Petyk and Prof. Y. Shushkova took part in the IX All-Ukrainian Forum of Local Self-Government.
The participants of the event were heads of territorial communities of Ukraine and employees of local self-government bodies, representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, people’s deputies of Ukraine, heads of international organizations, diplomatic institutions and the public sector.

Forum on Local Self-Governance in Lviv is a platform for sharing experiences, discussing and analyzing current problems and prospects in the field of local self-government.
The IX All-Ukrainian Forum of Local Self-Government started with a panel discussion on the strategy and powers of cities during the war.
People’s deputies, specialized ministers, mayors, heads of regional councils and heads of regional military administrations will jointly discuss the long-term prospects of cities and villages of Ukraine under martial law, the competence of village, village, and city mayors, their powers in making decisions.

The discussion panel “How cities help Ukrainians in times of war” was moderated by Markian DATSYSHYN – consultant of the Council of Europe Program “Decentralization and Reform of Public Administration in Ukraine”.
No less interesting was the second panel discussion: “Financing and economic development of communities in the conditions of war”. During the Forum, a public discussion was held with the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov, on the topic: “War as a stress test for local self-government.”
The listeners were also very interested in the presentation by Nataliya Alyushina – the head of the NADS of the National Agency of Ukraine for Civil Service on future changes in the Law of Ukraine “On Service in Local Self-Government Bodies”.
At the panel discussions of the forum in 2022, speakers will talk about the strategy and powers of cities during the war, financing and economic development, energy security etc. Moreover mayors from all over Ukraine will tell how cities help Ukrainians in wartime.
The forum remains an unchanged platform for communication and cooperation of the heads of the OTG, deputies of all levels, representatives of the Council of Ministers, ministries and organizations.
