People of Action: The Young Generation

From May 8 to 12, 2023, the Open Government Week will be held as part of Ukraine’s participation in the international Open Government Partnership Initiative. One of the topical topics of the Open Government Week events is the openness of government activities and the involvement of young people in understanding state-building processes.
The initiative included an event called “People of Action: The Young Generation” – a tour of the structural units of the Lviv Regional Military Administration for the most active and successful students and student self-government of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. In particular, students of the Faculty of Finance and Business Management, specialty 281 “Public Administration and Management” of the educational program “Public Administration and Business Management” and the student government of the faculty were invited.
During the excursion, the students were introduced to the work of the Digital Development Department, the Department for Culture, Nationalities and Religions, the Department of Economic Policy, the Department of International Technical Assistance and International Cooperation, the Youth Policy Department of the Department of Youth and Sports, the Department of Communications and Internal Policy, and the Central Passenger Transportation Dispatch Service. The students visited the session hall of the Lviv Oblast Council, where they had the opportunity to feel like deputies. The students were also encouraged to do internships and practice in the structural units and join the projects of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
The final stage of the tour was a meeting between the First Vice-Rector Andriy Hukaliuk, Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Business Management Andriy Stasyshyn, Head of the Department of Public Administration and Business Management Hanna Komarnytska, and students of the Faculty of Finance and Business Management of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv with the First Deputy Head of the Lviv Regional State Administration Andriy Godyk. During the meeting, the participants had the opportunity to communicate in the form of a dialog. Andriy Godyk, Deputy Head of Lviv Regional State Administration, shared his experience of working during the introduction of quarantine restrictions and martial law, problematic issues and ways to solve them, the prospects of young people in rebuilding the country, and strategic issues of public authorities in restoring the state. First Vice-Rector of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv Andriy Hukalyuk spoke about the University’s cooperation with the Luhansk People’s Republican Army during martial law. Andriy Stasyshyn, Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Business Management, emphasized the importance of such events for students of the specialty 281 Public Management and Administration as future managers.
The Faculty of Finance and Business Management of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv expresses its gratitude to the Lviv Regional Military Administration for close cooperation and prospects for future career growth for students whose specialty is of great importance for the further development of the Ukrainian State.
