Panel discussion “European Structural Funds and their cooperation with Ukraine ”

On October 13, 2021, the Department of Financial Management hosted a panel discussion “European Structural Funds and their cooperation with Ukraine”, implemented within the Jean Monnet Module “Revitalization of cities – the EU experience for Ukraine” Erasmus + program with the support of the EU (Urban Revitalization – the EU experience for Ukraine 620957-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-MODULE).

In the introductory part, the participants got acquainted with the information about the project Jean Monnet Module “Revitalization of cities – the EU experience for Ukraine” from its coordinator, Ph.D., Assoc. Olga Sych.

The speakers outlined the current areas of cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union and the possibility of using European financial instruments to support the sustainable development of the state. Presentations were on such topics: “Cooperation between Ukraine and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development: status and prospects” (Kateryna Zakorko, student of UFF-43c), “European instruments for financing urban development” (Alina Mlintsova, student of UFFM-11c), EU cooperation and Ukraine in the framework of the EU4BUSINESS program (Diana Koren, student of the UFFM-12c), “HORIZON EUROPE program and its consequences for Ukraine” (Ilona Yurchenko, student of the UFF-41c) “EU-Ukraine cross-border cooperation programs” (Marta Pylat, student of the UFF-22s), “Transformation of industrial facilities into an active public space” (Marta Korzh, student of the UFF-43s).

The discussion was attended by 90 students of different courses of the educational program “Finance, Customs and Tax Affairs”, lecturers of the Department of Financial Management, guests of the event. The final speech was made by the Head of the Department of Financial Management, prof. Natalia Sytnyk, emphasizing the importance of implementing international cooperation projects and disseminating knowledge about the possibilities of attracting European financial instruments to modernize the domestic economy.

The participants of the event will receive certificates of participation of the European standard, and the materials of the discussion will be posted in the public domain on the project page.
