Methodical seminar on the topic: “Creation and certification of electronic training courses”

On January 20, 2022, the Department of Digital Economics and Business Analytics, Faculty of Finance and Business Management, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv hosted a methodological seminar on “Creation and certification of e-learning courses.” Speakers: Doctor of Economics, Professor Shevchuk I.B., Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Starukh A.I.

The methodical seminar was started by the head of the department, Doctor of Economics, Professor Shevchuk IB, who stressed the need to create electronic training courses on the Moodle platform, as it will improve the quality of students’ knowledge, their access to education in 7 × 24 format. conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic and will form the content of the information educational space of the Faculty and the University, which are part of the global international educational e-environment.

Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Starukh AI made a report on “The procedure for certification and content-scientific assessment of the quality of the electronic course.” The speaker outlined the main aspects of the organization and certification of e-learning courses, drew attention to the main characteristics of e-learning courses and their structure, spoke in detail on the content-scientific and structural-functional evaluation of the course by the department and the Attestation Commission.

Continued the report on “Creating content for e-learning course” Doctor of Economics, Professor Shevchuk IB and demonstrated how to add certain resources (“Page”, “URL (web link)”, “Book”, “File”) and activities (Tasks, “Glossary”, “Forum” to the Moodle e-learning course) “,” Lesson “,” Choice “,” Wiki “,” Feedback “,” Questionnaire “,” Test “), which depending on the content of the course and the concept of teaching allow you to structure teaching materials and allow you to quickly exchange information with students and evaluate the results of their work.

Also, the speaker in the topic “Test control of student knowledge in Moodle” spoke about the features of the test control of student knowledge in Moodle and how to prepare files with test tasks to upload them to the system. Demonstrated the ability to develop tests that contain different types of questions:

  • multiple choice – a question in which you can choose one or more answers from the list provided;
  • short answer – a one-word answer that the student must enter from the keyboard;
  • numerical answer – the answer with the number that the student must enter from the keyboard;
  • compliance – establishing compliance;
  • right-wrong – there are only two possible answers to the question “right” or “wrong”.

After the reports, the teachers of the department took an active part in the discussion of the methodological seminar.

In addition, the following electronic courses in the Moodle system were presented at the department, the content-scientific quality assessment was conducted and submitted for certification:

  4. Business Benchmarking is a university-wide elective course (HSE) for second-year students. Teacher: Ph.D., Associate Professor Starukh A.I.
  5. “Computer Networks” is a selective discipline of the cycle of professional and practical training of applicants for higher education of the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education (second year) specialty 051 “Economics” OP “Information Technology in Business”.
