Meeting-lecture with the chief specialist of the Internal Audit Sector of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (Kyiv) Andriy Myzyuk

On November 14, 2022, an interesting and informative meeting-lecture was held with the chief specialist of the Internal Audit Sector of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (Kyiv) Andrii Mizyuk and the graduates of the “Finance, Customs and Taxation” educational program of the Department of Financial Management of the Faculty of Finance and Business Management of the Ivan LNU Franka

The speaker familiarized the listeners with the structure, powers, specifics of activity and legal basis of NABU. He paid special attention to the model of state financial control in Ukraine, namely internal audit and internal control in state bodies.

Andrii Myzyuk illustrated the structure and hierarchy of national legal acts in the field of internal audit, characterized the directions of its implementation and activity cycles with practical examples.

“The function of internal audit should not be positioned as an inspection activity, but as an independent and objective assessment, the purpose of which is to help the head of the institution in achieving the set goals with the help of a systematic and consistent approach to their implementation with the provision of appropriate recommendations for improving the management system, internal control to increase the efficiency of the institution’s activity,” the lecturer said.

At the end of the meeting, the speaker focused on the issues of interest to the students, namely, the requirements for candidates as future specialists of the National Bureau and informed that representatives of various specialties can work in the structure of NABU — lawyers, economists, analysts in various fields, but on the condition of successful completion all stages of selection and compliance with the requirements of integrity and absolute decency.

Thank you to Andrii Mizyuk for the useful information about the nuances of NABU’s activities in general and the internal audit sector in particular. This information will motivate students of higher education to acquire knowledge, which will then be implemented in practice and will contribute to their successful employment.
