Lecture by a professor at the University of Phoenix (College of Doctoral Research) in the USA for masters of the educational program “Finance, Customs and Taxation” and teachers of the Department of Financial Management

On November 21, 2023, professor of the University of Phoenix (College of Doctoral Studies) in the USA, Yury Overko, gave a lecture on the subject of “Obtaining a Terminal Degree in USA: Professional Doctorate vs. Academic Doctorate”.

The lecture was attended by masters of the first and second year of study, as well as bachelors and teachers of the department. The lecturer familiarized the students with the methods of scientific research during the writing of scientific papers, the structure of doctoral theses and the features of awarding scientific degrees in the universities of the United States of America.

Special emphasis was placed on the need to observe the principles of academic integrity. It was also emphasized that each doctoral student can follow his own educational trajectory. After the lecture, there was a discussion of topical issues regarding the opportunities of Ukrainian students to do scientific work in the USA, the professor also answered the questions of students and teachers.
