Informal education in the educational process of students of the educational and professional program “Public administration and business management” specialty 281 “Public management and administration”

An effective combination of formal and informal education is one of the requirements of the modern labor market for the formation of highly qualified, competitive future specialists and is successfully implemented in the training of higher education applicants under the educational and professional program “Public Administration and Business Management” specialty 281 “Public Administration and Administration” by the Department of Public administration and business management of the Faculty of Finance and Business Management of Ivan Franko Lviv National University. The recognition of learning results obtained in non-formal education is regulated by the relevant document of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, namely: “The procedure for recognizing learning results obtained in non-formal and informal education at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv”.

Such integration of non-formal education into formal education contributes to a more complete personal and professional development of students, expands the horizons of knowledge beyond standard curricula, allows the development of soft skills such as communication, creativity, critical thinking and teamwork, contributes to increasing the competitiveness of graduates after graduation of higher education, accelerates the processes of adaptation of applicants to changes and crisis phenomena.

Graduates of the educational and professional program “Public Administration and Business Management” constantly improve their knowledge and acquire new skills in the field of public administration and administration by participating in informal education events and obtaining certificates of completion of training on the educational platforms Coursera, Prometheus, etc.

Thus, according to the recommendation of the Lviv Regional Military Administration for institutions of higher education, students of the first and third years of the educational and professional program “Public Administration and Business Management” together with Associate Professor of the Department of Public Administration and Business Management O. Reshota a cycle of training courses on the “Action. Education ” platform was successfully mastered in order to deepen knowledge of the basics of democracy, crisis communications, etc. Accordingly, for participation in these non-formal education events, successful completion of test tasks and obtaining certificates, additional points were added to the final grade in the disciplines “Introduction to the profession and academic integrity” and “Communications in public management and administration”.

Therefore, within the framework of listening to a cycle of educational lectures, students of higher education supplemented their knowledge and skills, the assimilation and acquisition of which is provided by the educational and professional program “Public Administration and Business Management”.
