Guest Meeting of Stakeholders of the Educational and Professional Program “Public Administration and Business Management” during University Days

On October 10, 2023, a guest meeting of stakeholders of the educational and professional program “Public Administration and Business Management” of specialty 281 Public Administration and Administration took place as part of the University Days and the continuation of the guest lecture series for participants of this program. The main goal of the meeting was to familiarize students with representatives of public authorities and expand their knowledge of the organizational structure and activities of the Lviv City Council.

The meeting was attended by the head of the vocational education department of the Lviv City Council’s development department, Bohdan Ivanus, the leading specialist of the internship and personnel management department of the Lviv City Council, as well as the curator of the Internship Program at the Lviv City Council, “First Career Step,” Natalia Tomchuk. The meeting was informative, and the participants of the educational and professional program learned about the organizational structure of the Lviv City Council, its structural units, and their work. Detailed information was provided about the structure and functions of various departments and divisions involved in the city’s development. Emphasis was placed on the importance of youth participation in decision-making and city development. The attendees discussed mechanisms through which young people can contribute to the work of the Lviv City Council, such as through community projects, internship programs, and participation in volunteer activities.

During the meeting, issues and problems addressed in the sessions of the Lviv City Council were discussed, as well as the work of structural units in this context. Measures, responsibility, development projects, and the public budget, as well as the functioning of services ensuring the safety and quality of life of Lviv community residents, were also discussed.

Special attention was given to the opportunities and prospects for young people, as their educational program is directly related to management processes. Natalia Tomchuk presented the Internship Program at the Lviv City Council, “First Career Step,” to the students and spoke about the training and opportunities that young people can utilize for their development. She also provided information on the rules for preparing a professional resume and invited students to participate in this program.

The meeting was an important event for participants of the educational and professional program “Public Administration and Business Management,” as they had the opportunity to see the practical side of their chosen profession and interact with practitioners from local self-government bodies.

The meeting was also supported by the scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department of Public Administration and Business Management, who actively participated in the discussions. The head of the department, Hanna Komarnytska, expressed gratitude to the guests for the interesting, productive, and meaningful meeting and wished the students to make use of all the opportunities for their future career development.

Gratitude was also expressed to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for providing opportunities for the development and qualification enhancement of young people who have chosen a profession in the field of management and will contribute to the rebuilding of our country in the future.

This meeting was an important step in increasing the awareness of students in the educational and professional program “Public Administration and Business Management” about the work of the Lviv City Council and the opportunities they have for their professional development.
