Educational event “To the International Day of Remembrance of the Chernobyl NPP Tragedy” (UFP-31s group, Public Administration and Business Management educational program)

Every year on April 26, the International Day of Remembrance of the Chernobyl Disaster, Ukrainian society honors the liquidators of the consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and all those who died and suffered from the largest social and ecological disaster in the history of nuclear power.

The chronology of the tragic events of April 26, 1986, the process of liquidation of the accident at the fourth power unit of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and the tragic consequences of the disaster for humanity and the environment were discussed by students of the UFP-31s group of the educational program “Public Administration and Business Management” with the advisor of the group, an associate professor of the Department of Public Administration and Management by O. Reshota as part of an educational event on the theme: “International Day of Remembrance of the tragedy at the Chornobyl NPP”.

The catastrophic consequences of the explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant became a dramatic lesson for civilization and a stern warning about the scale of humanity’s responsibility for the environmental safety of the planet. Economic and ecological damages and the number of people affected by the Chernobyl accident can still only be determined approximately, because the exact number of dead NPP workers, firefighters, military personnel and civilians who participated in the liquidation of the consequences of the accident and fell ill due to the received dose of radiation pollution cannot be calculated.

Every year, April 26 is the day of commemoration of the greatest man-made disaster and honoring the heroism of firefighters, operating personnel of the Chernobyl NPP, military personnel, construction workers, scientists, doctors and volunteer liquidators who participated in liquidation of the consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl NPP. The heroism and self-sacrifice of these people will forever remain in the memory of the Ukrainian people!
