EDUCATIONAL EVENT ON THE TOPIC: “KNOW AND RESPECT THE HISTORY OF YOUR UNIVERSITY” WITH STUDENTS OF THE UFP-11s GROUP. SPECIALIZATIONS PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION AND BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

On September 29, 2022, first-year students together with group curator L.O. Bobko visited the Ivan Franko University History Museum – the oldest continuously operating higher education institution in Ukraine. The tour of the museum was conducted by its director Gudyma Yuriy Volodymyrovych, who introduced the students to the main sections of the exposition: Prerequisites for the foundation of the University (end of the 16th – middle of the 12th century); Lviv Academy during the Commonwealth of Nations (1661–1773); The Austrian period of the University’s history (1784–1918); University between the World Wars (1918–1939); Soviet University (1939–1990); Modern development of the University and funds, scientific and cultural institution. Diplomas of graduates and scientists from the times of Austria-Hungary, Poland, the USSR, documents, personal belongings, manuscripts and editions of scientific works, awards, works of painting and sculpture, scientific instruments, photos, etc., were among the exhibits that attracted the attention of young people and aroused considerable interest. The students are grateful to Yury Volodymyrovych for an interesting story that inspires further fruitful study and active creative activity on the grounds of the alma mater.
