On October 12, 2022, as an adviser to the UFP-21s group – associate professor of the Department of Public Administration and Business Management, Doctor of Economics, аssoc. prof. Olga Malinovska had an educational hour on the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine.

In the conditions of resistance to large-scale aggression, when every piece of Ukrainian land is defended by the extraordinary courage, valor and blood of the defenders of Ukraine, the independence of the state and the will of the Ukrainian people are the greatest value today.

For many centuries in a row, the desire for freedom and one’s own state has been a defining value for Ukrainian society, therefore, gaining independence is not an accident, but the result of titanic efforts of representatives of many generations of the Ukrainian people.

Based on the research of Ukrainian and foreign historians, the Ukrainian people are one of the five peoples of Europe with the oldest tradition of state formation. Therefore, the modern Ukrainian state has absorbed the traditions of Ukrainian statehood of the beginning of the 20th century, which were based on the principles of democracy and collegiality. The first independence of Ukraine in the 20th century was proclaimed on January 22, 1918. And researchers consider the declaration of Ukraine’s independence on August 24, 1991 to be the restoration of Ukrainian statehood, the crown of the struggle of many generations for the right to freely speak the Ukrainian language, the right to free choice, expression of will, the right to choose a European vector of development and one’s own state-building strategy.

Today, our state again defends its independence and territorial integrity, national interests and national identity, bravely defends its own freedom and the freedom of Europe. The Ukrainian people are admired by the whole world for their unity and bravery, equating the concepts of “courage” and “will” with yellow and blue colors.

Again and again, Ukrainian defenders, giving their health and lives for the sake of Ukrainian independence, once again prove that:

“…Cossack’s head will not bow to anyone,

A saber on the forehead of those who dare,

To come to our land with a bullet or a sword,

We will fight as long as the Dnieper flows…” (O. Yarmak)

Glory to Ukraine! Glory to heroes!
