EDUCATIONAL EVENT FOR STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF FINANCE AND BUSINESS MANAGEMENT DEDICATED TO THE OPENING OF THE ANNIVERSARY EXHIBITION OF LEVKA SKOPA AND EXHIBITION OF GRAPHICS BY OLEKSI KOSATOGO
On March 1, 2024, the anniversary exhibition of Levko Skop opened in the Lviv Palace of Arts. The exhibition is timed to Shevchenko days and on the occasion of the artist’s 70th anniversary. The exhibition presents the author’s project “Icons and War” by Lev Skop, which has a deep idea and includes an exposition of the author’s icons and photos from the front, where the author transferred these icons even before the beginning of the war.
At the same time, an exhibition of graphics by Oleksiy Kosatoy “Line of fire. Front line sketches” was opened, who before the war worked as a leading designer of expositions of the Lviv Palace of Arts, and now is an officer of the Armed Forces and protects Ukraine at the front.
Students of the UFF-11s, UFO-21s, UFP-21s, UFE-21s group and the associate professor of the Department of Accounting, Analysis and Control of the Ivan Franko National University of Applied Sciences, Nataliya Lobod, visited the anniversary exhibition of Levko Skop and the graphic exhibition of Oleksiy Kosatoy.
“The most important incentive in my work is to help defenders. That’s why I paint icons, because they are needed in war, icons inspire faith, miracles happen near them, soldiers are saved with them,” Lev Skop said in his speech.
Levko Skop is not just an artist and icon painter, since 2014 he has been actively involved in volunteer activities. The author puts his works up for auction, and transfers the money to the needs of the seriously ill and soldiers.
The artist Orest Skop (brother of Levko Skop) aptly remarked:
“To destroy a nation, it is necessary to destroy its culture.
That is why it is time to preserve and fix culture, and then our people will not be defeated”
