A round table on “Distance learning in Higher Education Institutions: models, technologies, prospects”
On April 28, 2021, a round table on “Distance Learning in Free Economic Zone: Models, Technologies, Prospects” was held, organized by the Board of Advisors of the Faculty of Financial Management and Business.
Until recently, distance learning was one of the promising alternatives for the organization of the educational process, and in the scientific and pedagogical environment there were discussions about the feasibility and effectiveness of this form of education. However, in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the need to comply with epidemiological restrictions, distance learning has become not a potential opportunity but a necessity, including for those who were not prepared for it. Particularly relevant for higher education institutions were the questions: how to organize distance learning, what means of interaction in the information environment to use, what teaching methods are most effective in distance learning.
The participants of the round table tried to answer these and other questions. Thus, during the presentation of the results of their own research, teachers of the Faculty of Finance and Business had the opportunity to discuss the features of distance learning, analyze the experience of domestic and foreign free economic zones in the development of distance education, consider the advantages and disadvantages of this form of education for students and teachers. Teachers paid considerable attention to improving distance learning, in particular through the use of new information technologies, motivating the work of research and teaching staff and teaching students, providing all participants in the educational process incentives for high quality activities, modeling trajectories of self-improvement and success of modern teachers.
Summing up, the moderator of the event, Chairman of the Board of Advisors, Doctor of Economics, Assoc. Shushkova Yu.V. thanked all participants for their active participation, noted the usefulness of such events and stressed the importance of their implementation in the future.
