FORMAL AND NON-FORMAL EDUCATION: THE CHALLENGES OF TODAY

24.12.2020 | 10:57

Quarantine restrictions and current trends in education cause a number of challenges facing the education sector. There are three important things in the field of education that make adjustments to the acquisition of professional competencies for both faculty and graduates.

The first important thing is the transformation of the concept of “education” as such and its functions. The second important thing is globalization and its impact on the education sector. And the third important thing is the influence of information technology, which has not only radically changed the way people live, but also affected the education sector. One of the consequences of this is the rapid development of distance education.

In today’s globalized world, the opportunity to learn at a convenient time and way is a big bonus. Everyone who expressed a desire to continue their self-development had the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills and acquire new ones.

When introducing distance learning into the educational process, the teaching staff of the Department of Public Administration and Business Management and higher education students majoring in 281 “Public Administration” also participated in various activities for formal and non-formal education for self-improvement.

At the end of this difficult year for all participants in the educational process we want to present the results of formal and informal education of the Department of Public Administration and Business Management. After all, we are clearly aware of how the concept of education has changed in the modern world, what are its roles and functions today, and we have the opportunity to take this into account in our work or educational process.

Openness to the new and constant updating is the key to keeping up with the times.
