Conducting by the international audit, tax, legal and consulting services company PwC Lviv SDC of a block of online lectures for teachers and students of higher education majoring in “Accounting and Taxation” of the educational and professional program “Accounting, Analysis and Financial Investigations”

As part of the “Step to Career” project and cooperation with stakeholders at the invitation of the Department of Accounting, Analysis and Control of the Faculty of Finance and Business Management of the Ivan Franko National University with the support of the Department of Career Development and Cooperation with Business in May 2024, an international company with provision of audit, tax, legal and consulting services PwC Lviv SDC held a block of online lectures for teachers and students of higher education majoring in “Accounting and Taxation” of the educational and professional program “Accounting, Analysis and Financial Investigations”.
The purpose of the meeting was to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills regarding the implementation of digital technologies in accounting, preparation and verification of financial statements, as well as familiarization with modern requirements for the competences of accounting, auditing and taxation specialists, updating of educational programs.
Lecturers were Marta Dumitrak – senior specialist of the Tax Department at PwC Lviv SDC (topic: “Digital transformation in accounting: advantages and challenges”) and Olena Manila and Svitlana Gordiychuk – senior specialists of the Audit Department at PwC Lviv SDC (topic: “Financial reporting: components and verification”).
Lecturer Marta Dumitrak’s information on the use of digital technologies in accounting and auditing was of great interest to the audience, which demonstrated from the company’s practice the possibilities of real application of modern digital tools such as Optical Character Recognition, Continia Document Capture, DataSnipper, Robotic Process Automation in the work of accountants and auditors. This will contribute to the deepening of the understanding and awareness among higher education graduates of the importance for them of acquiring digital skills in accounting and auditing in order to be competitive in the labor market in their chosen field.
Important and no less interesting for those present was the lecturers’ information on the preparation and audit of financial statements of enterprises. Applicants got acquainted with the features of drawing up and conducting an audit of financial reporting according to national and international standards, with software products that are used in the audit of reporting and what mistakes are most often made by companies when compiling it in various European countries.
