Civil Service Open Day

On May 19, 2021, the Interregional Department of the National Agency for Civil Service in Lviv and Zakarpattia regions held a thematic online meeting with student youth as part of the “Civil Service Open Day” campaign.
We talked to the graduates of the Faculty of Finance and Business Management of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and the teaching staff of the specialty 281 “Public Administration”.

The event was moderated by the Head of the Interregional Department Yaroslav Koval, who provided general information about the civil service, the main tasks and key results of public administration reform in Ukraine, told about the organization of internships for young people who are not in the civil service in government agencies.

Mykola Trofimenko, Deputy Head of the Department, informed the participants of the event about how to get into the civil service, how to find the right vacancy, how to prepare for the competition, provided practical advice and recommendations on the above issues and answered students’ questions.

Invited speakers: Natalia Kalakun, Chief Specialist of the Department of Communications and Internal Policy of the Lviv Regional State Administration and Ihor Grechukha, Leading Specialist of the Department of Regional Representation in Western Regions of the Secretariat of the Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights and why they made their choice in favor of employment in public authorities.

Representatives of the faculty of specialty 281 “Public Administration” and graduates of the Department of Public Administration and Business Administration and the Department of Economics and Public Administration actively discussed the prospects and motivation in the civil service. In particular, Acting head Department of Public Administration and Business Management, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Doctor of Economics Hanna Komarnytska noted the importance of such events and outlined ways of further cooperation on training in the specialty 281 “Public Administration”, promotion of civil service among youth, internships and training training and production practice of students of different specialties in public authorities.
