On February 26, 2025, an open lecture by Associate Professor of the Department of Digital Economics and Business Analytics, Candidate of Philosophical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor Bohdan DEPUTATA on the discipline “WEB Design and WEB Programming” on the topic: “Source Code Management SCM” was held in a mixed format.

Prof. Oleg YAREMA, Associate Professor of the Department of Digital Economics and Business Analytics, Candidate of Philosophical and Mathematical Sciences, Assoc. During the lecture, it was highlighted:
- Historical excursion and concepts of version control systems (SCM/VCS);
- Tools for managing versions of source code and other digital objects;
- Main types: centralized (CVCS) and distributed (DVCS) and their comparison;
- Modern cloud integrations (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps);
- SCM functions: tracking changes and file history. Teamwork, conflict management;
- Basics of Git technology, as the most popular SCM;
- Basic Git commands, working with branches and change management;
- Practical aspects of Git and GitHub. Environment setup. Creating local and remote repositories;
- Version management via GitHub.
The lecture covers both theoretical aspects and practical application of version control systems. The presented lecture material has practical value and allows students to develop the necessary knowledge and skills in working with various version control systems (Source code management SCM) to perform practical tasks when writing coursework in professional and practical training disciplines.
