Participation of Higher Education Students and Lecturers of Specialty 071 “Accounting and Taxation” in the Webinar on Mental Health
On February 27, 2025, Natalia Loboda, Deputy Head of the Department for Educational Work and Group Advisor at the Department of Accounting, Analysis, and Control of the Faculty of Management and Financial Business at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, along with second- and third-year higher education students (UFO-21s, UFO-31s), took part in a webinar on “Basic Self-Help Skills and First Psychological Aid in Crisis Situations.” This event was held within the framework of the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Program “How Are You?” and was conducted under the Israel Trauma Coalition program to support and restore mental health among participants in the educational process.
The webinar was moderated by Ruslana Volyanik—a career consultant at the Lviv Employment Center, a psychologist-trainer, and a certified trainer from the Horst Rogusch Foundation and Biz-Up.
During the webinar, participants were introduced to various relaxation and self-regulation techniques, including:
✅ The “4 Elements” relaxation technique
✅ The BASIC protocol from Israel Trauma Coalition
✅ Bilateral stimulation technique “Butterfly”
✅ Breathing techniques
✅ Jacobson’s relaxation exercise
Attendees had the opportunity to practice several techniques to reduce tension, cope with stress, regulate emotional states, maintain inner resources, and improve effective planning.
A crucial takeaway from the session was the understanding of the importance of being present in the moment, as highlighted in the book “Man’s Search for Meaning” by renowned psychiatrist, scholar, and Holocaust survivor Viktor Frankl.
💙 A heartfelt thank you to the organizers for providing valuable knowledge and essential skills for today’s youth!
