The Third Interdepartmental Scientific and Methodological Seminar on the topic: “Current Issues in the Use of Information Technologies: Challenges of Transitioning to Legal ERP Systems”
On May 22, 2025, as part of the annual Science Days at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, the Faculty of Finance and Business Management hosted the Third Interdepartmental Scientific and Methodological Seminar on the topic: “Current Issues in the Use of Information Technologies: Challenges of Transitioning to Legal ERP Systems.”
The seminar was organized as part of the ongoing collaboration among three departments: the Department of Digital Economy and Business Analytics (Head – Doctor of Economics, Professor Iryna Shevchuk), the Department of Accounting, Analysis and Audit (Head – PhD in Economics, Associate Professor Svitlana Pryimak), and the Department of Public Administration and Business Management (Head – Doctor of Economics, Professor Hanna Komarnytska), with the participation of the NGO “Institute of Cybersecurity and Analytics ICSA.”
The seminar brought together more than 70 participants, including stakeholders of the educational and professional programs “Information Technologies in Business,” “Accounting, Analysis and Financial Investigations,” and “Public Administration and Business Management,” as well as business representatives, professors and associate professors of the Faculty of Finance and Business Management, and higher education students.
The Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Business Management, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor Andrii Stasyshyn, welcomed the seminar participants, emphasizing the importance of holding such events for the third consecutive year and the relevance of transitioning to legal ERP systems in the context of current challenges faced by Ukrainian businesses. The organizers highlighted the value of participants’ time by setting a strict time limit of 5–10 minutes for each presentation.

During the seminar, participants discussed pressing issues related to the transition of Ukrainian enterprises to legal software, particularly ERP systems, amid the rejection of products developed by Russian vendors. Special attention was given to dispelling myths about the complexity of such transitions, analyzing the practical experience of implementing alternative solutions, and identifying optimal digitalization strategies for various economic sectors.
Stakeholders shared their insights on the peculiarities of integrating legal ERP systems into the educational process of training specialists within the educational programs “Information Technologies in Business,” “Accounting, Analysis and Financial Investigations,” and “Public Administration and Business Management.”
The event was held at a high level, ensuring a productive exchange of experience between academia, business, and the public sector. Participants discussed technical, financial, and organizational aspects of the transition to legal ERP systems, as well as the prospects for developing the domestic market of enterprise software. The seminar fostered active discussion and the development of practical recommendations for the successful implementation of modern information technologies.
