On September 22, the IX All-Ukrainian Forum of Local Self-Government was successfully held in Lviv! Teachers and students of educational programs (Specialty 281 Public Management and Administration) of the Department of Economics and Public Management had the opportunity to visit the Forum in a remote format.

This event has acquired an absolutely symbolic character for Ukrainian communities. As a result of the plenary discussion on the topic “Strategy and powers of cities during the war”, a number of relevant modern issues were discussed: the prospects of urbanization recovery and development during the war, the problems of financial support of united territorial communities, measures to fight in the event of an energy emergency, the moment of de-occupation activities. ..

The speakers of the event were the heads of local governments, leaders of central authorities, heads of cities and regions, people’s deputies, experts, and representatives of ministries. Among them, in particular, the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine — Ruslan Stefanchuk, the deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine — Kyrylo Tymoshenko, the chairman of Lviv OVA — Maksym Kozytskyi; Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi moderated the discussion.

⠀For students of the Faculty of Finance and Business Management of the Lviv National University, the opportunity to visit the forum and collectively process its results, which took place in two stages of the scientific student circle “Upravlinets” of the Department of Economics and Public Administration on September 23 and 26, was significant.

The work of the first stage included powerful brainstorming and effective discussion of the knowledge acquired after the occasion among the circle participants. In the course of a rich dialogue of higher education seekers of the first (bachelor) level of education, Iryna Yuskovets, Iryna Baidalka, Rakhval Iryna, Iryna Verzun, Bunyak Nazariy, Kateryna Khainas and Iryna Sabadash expressed their point of view regarding the results of participation in the forum in the most thorough and motivating way. This format of a differentiated conversation made it possible to more clearly reflect the vision of the current situation of Ukrainian settlements from the perspective of the young generation and to highlight specific shortcomings in their regulation that require a priority solution.

As the most active participants of the scientific circle “Upravlinets”, the students: Sabadash I., Bunyak N., Rakhval I., Tsvek A., Yuskovets I., Polishchak R. also gathered in the second stage of the presentation of conclusions of the forum, so that, on the part of the deputies from the science of each course, to share the work in local self-government bodies of united territorial communities in a narrower aspect, namely their settlements.

Events of this format make it possible to move more confidently towards the future, bypassing the mistakes and fears of the past.

We would like to thank our students for their productive work and we are unwaveringly moving towards victory together!
