Synergy of Theory and Practice: Ongoing Collaboration Between the Department of Financial Management and KPMG
The joint initiative between the Department of Financial Management and the international consulting firm KPMG – team-based course projects – has been successfully implemented for the third consecutive year. This project represents a significant step in the development of dual education for first-cycle (Bachelor’s) students of the “Finance, Customs, and Tax Affairs” educational program.
Currently, second-year students are engaged in collective research, analyzing the operations of leading Ukrainian enterprises. Academic supervision and coordination are provided by Associate Professors of the Department, Olga Sych and Iryna Yasinovska. In turn, KPMG specialists serve as mentors, sharing applied knowledge and practical experience with the students, which enhances the quality of project execution and fosters further professional growth.
The next stage of this collaboration was an online meeting with company representatives held on April 9, 2026. The event was opened by Maksym Voitsekhovskyi, Head of the KPMG Lviv office, who discussed the company’s global market position and outlined career prospects for talented youth.
During the meeting, students had the opportunity to hear real-life professional success stories from alumni of their own department who are already part of the KPMG team. It is noteworthy that over the past five years, six of our graduates and students have launched their careers at this prestigious firm.
Young specialists – Oleksandra Sinehubova, Iryna Yarova, Mykhailo Romanko, and Roman Lemishovskyi – expressed their readiness to mentor current students and provide support during their research phase.
Participants now face a demanding stage: conducting in-depth research to be systematized into a term paper, followed by a final presentation of results before an authoritative commission consisting of both faculty members and KPMG representatives.
Thanks to the strategic partnership with KPMG and the personal support of Maksym Voitsekhovskyi, students gain unique experience that builds a solid foundation for their successful future. The Department of Financial Management sincerely thanks our partners for supporting innovative educational approaches and developing the next generation of financial professionals!
