From May 13 to June 17, 2026, Professor Hanna Komarnytska, Head of the Department of Public Administration and Business Management at the Faculty of Financial Management and Business of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, successfully completed a professional development program for academic and teaching staff. The training was organized by the Scientific and Methodological Center for Higher and Pre-Higher Vocational Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Within the specialized distance express course “Fundamentals of Testology and Development of Test Items” (1 ECTS credit / 30 hours), key aspects of developing and reviewing tasks for the Unified State Qualification Exam (USQE) in the specialty “Public Administration and Administration” were covered.

The course program involved completing practical assignments and conducting a deep dive into evaluation methodology. As a result of the training, a number of professional competencies were improved, specifically:

• mastering basic terminology, classification of examinations, and test item formats;

• understanding the structure of a test item and the procedure for its peer review;

• thoroughly elaborating on the requirements for the stem, alternatives, key, and distractors of multiple-choice test items;

• studying the taxonomic model of examination and the structure of the testing program, taking into account B. Bloom’s taxonomy of educational objectives;

• consolidating the ability to develop and conduct professional expert evaluations of test items;

• analyzing methods for preventing the influence of previous experience on an individual’s examination result in order to ensure the complete validity of the testing.

Continuous improvement of the professional competencies of the teaching staff, the implementation of lifelong learning principles, and the introduction of modern assessment tools are undeniable priorities of the Department. The acquired knowledge and practical skills in testology will contribute to the most objective measurement of the learning outcomes of higher education students, as well as their high-quality preparation for successfully passing the USQE.

Upon completion of the program, Hanna Komarnytska received an official certificate (PKT 38282994/3764-26, dated June 17, 2026).
