On January 20, 2026, a significant scientific event—a departmental research seminar—took place at the Department of Public Administration and Business Management of the Faculty of Finance and Business Management. The key agenda item was the review of the dissertation research progress of Olga Voytenko, a PhD student (third level of higher education).

During the meeting, the researcher presented the results of her work based on the initially approved topic. However, following an active discussion and analysis of the findings, the department’s scientific community concluded that a transformation of the research focus was necessary. Olga Voytenko substantiated the feasibility of shifting from a general descriptive analysis to the study of specific levers of influence. As a result of the professional discussion, an updated topic was formulated and approved:

“Public Administration of the Cultural Services Sector of Ukraine in the Context of European Integration”

The following faculty members and researchers took part in the professional discussion:

  • Hanna Komarnytska — Head of the Department, Doctor of Economics, Professor;
  • Borys Karpinskyi — Deputy Head of the Department for Research, Doctor of Economics, Professor;
  • Svitlana Shultz — Scientific Supervisor, Doctor of Economics, Professor;
  • Olena Malinovska — PhD in Economics, Associate Professor;
  • Oksana Herasymenko — PhD in Economics, Associate Professor;
  • Olena Reshota — PhD in Public Administration, Associate Professor;
  • Hanna Dziana — PhD in Public Administration, Associate Professor;
  • Roman Saievych — PhD in Public Administration and Management, Assistant Professor;
  • Dmytro Pfister — PhD student (third level of higher education).

Scientific supervisor Professor Svitlana Shultz, Professor Hanna Komarnytska, and Professor Borys Karpinskyi noted that the updated wording reflects the management aspect of the work much more effectively and fully complies with the requirements of specialty 281 “Public Administration and Management.”

Based on the seminar results, the following decisions were made:

  1. To approve the updated topic of the dissertation research.
  2. To recommend the Academic Council of the Faculty of Finance and Business Management to approve the change of the topic.
  3. To instruct the PhD student and the scientific supervisor to make the necessary adjustments to the individual scientific work plan.
