Scientific seminar of the Department of Financial Management “Sustainable Development Goals as Strategic Directions for Reforming the Financial System of Ukraine”

On March 17, 2025, the Department of Financial Management held a scientific seminar “Sustainable Development Goals as Strategic Directions for Reforming the Financial System of Ukraine”, which outlined strategies for the development of the national financial system in the context of military conflict and post-war recovery. Participants discussed the process of adapting the SDGs to the realities of martial law according to priorities:

– SDG 16 “Peace, justice and strong institutions”: restoring the rule of law, fighting corruption, ensuring human rights;

– SDG 3 “Good health and well-being”: providing health care, psychological support, combating epidemics;

– SDG 9 “Industrialization, innovation and infrastructure”: restoring critical infrastructure, stimulating innovation.

The seminar considered the possibilities of financing sustainable development in times of war, in particular, through new sources (international aid, investments, green bonds). Attention was paid to financial support mechanisms and the implementation of ESG principles in business organization, which allow SPDs not only to combine profitability with social and environmental responsibility, but also to adapt to global changes and attract investors.

The participants discussed strategies for post-war reconstruction of the infrastructure of territories, taking into account the principles of sustainable development; attracting investments in economic recovery with an emphasis on green technologies and innovations; creating conditions for sustainable development of communities and regions affected by the war; involving international financial organizations in the reconstruction of Ukraine, etc.

The scientific seminar was held within the framework of the implementation of the scientific topic of the Department of Financial Management “Modernization of the Financial System of Ukraine: Trends and Priorities” (state registration number: 0121U110244; implementation period: 01.01.2021-31.12.2025; scientific supervisor: Doctor of Economic Sciences, Prof. Nataliya Sytnyk).
