Public defense of team analytical projects on the analysis of digital products in interaction with stakeholders
On December 19, 2025, the Faculty of Finance and Business Management of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv hosted a public defense of team analytical projects on the analysis of digital products prepared by higher education students of the Master’s degree program “Digital Economy” (UFEM-11s group).
The defense of the projects took place within the framework of studying the educational component “Project Management” (teacher – Doctor of Economics, Professor Iryna SHEVCHUK) and became a practical result of the students’ successful completion of the online course “Analytics in Product IT” from the IT company Genesis.
The online course was implemented at the initiative of the IT company Genesis in cooperation with the NGO “Product IT Foundation for Education” and the online education studio EdEra, with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Its integration into the educational process was made possible by the completion of the advanced training program and accreditation of the Head of the Department of Digital Economics and Business Analytics, Doctor of Economics, Professor Iryna SHEVCHUK (Certificate No. 011/1208-2024).
The obtained learning outcomes were integrated into the discipline “Project Management” and re-enrolled as a component of the independent work of masters.
Within the framework of the project task, student teams carried out a comprehensive analytical assessment of selected digital products (mobile applications and online platforms) in order to improve the user experience and marketing strategy. Work on the projects involved going through the full project life cycle: from initiation and planning to data analytics, A/B testing and final defense before the commission.
During the implementation of the projects, the masters applied the principles of project management, formed marketing goals and KPIs (CAC, CTR, Retention Rate, LTV), worked with modern analytical tools (Google Analytics, Power BI, Tableau, ChatGPT, Instagram Insights, Kaggle datasets), built dashboards and justified management decisions based on data.
The evaluation of the works was carried out by a jury consisting of representatives of the academic community and the IT industry:
Andriy CHYPURKO, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Optimal Process Theory, Delivery Director of the IT company “SoftServe”;
Uliana MARIKUTSA, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Virtual Reality Systems of the Lviv Polytechnic National University
Bohdan DEPUTAT, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Digital Economics and Business Analytics, Senior Software Engineer at the IT company UKEESS Software House.
The evaluation criteria were the quality of analytical work, the validity of the use of tools, the level of presentation and defense, as well as the effectiveness of team interaction and individual contribution of participants.
The following team projects were presented during the event:
Team 1 (Mariya Halyk, Maryana Dobrovna) – analysis of the Instagram store baby_bow_ua;
Team 2 (Olena Kovalchuk, Mikaella Logoyda-Kopik, Sofia Tymchyshyn) – analytics of the online marketplace ua;
Team 3 (Iryna Fedchyshyn, Olena Shevchuk) – analysis of the mobile application Home Workout – No Equipment.
All presented projects were distinguished by creativity, practical orientation and a high level of analytical processing, and the defense took place in the format of a presentation of the results before the commission and stakeholders.
Holding such an event confirmed the effectiveness of combining online education, academic training, and practice-oriented learning, and also demonstrated the ability of the masters of the Digital Economy educational program to apply data analytics and project thinking to solve real digital business problems.
