PUBLIC SERVICE PROMOTION DAY

On 14 May 2026, a meeting was held at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv between students from the Department of Public Administration and Business Management, Faculty of Finance and Business Management, and a representative of the Western Interregional Directorate of the National Agency for Civil Service.

The event took place as part of the nationwide initiative ‘Promotion Day in the Public Service’, which aims to open up new opportunities for employment, adaptation and professional development for young people in the public sector.

Mykola Krechkivskyi, Deputy Head of the Department and Head of the Division for Zakarpattia, Lviv, Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk regions of the Western Interregional Department of the National Agency for Civil Service, addressed the students.

The guest spoke about the realities of working in the civil service, current requirements for candidates, career paths and the benefits of working in government bodies. He paid particular attention to internship programmes for students and graduates, as well as mechanisms for the adaptation of young professionals.

“A career in the public service is your launchpad into the future,” emphasised Mykola Krechkivskyi. “We aim to show young people that the public sector is not bureaucracy, but a space for development, influence and professional fulfilment.”

The students showed keen interest in the topic. They actively asked questions about employment opportunities after graduation, the necessary skills and prospects for career growth. Many of them expressed an interest in joining the internship programmes announced by the representative of the National Agency for Civil Service.

The event organisers highlighted the importance of such meetings for building a strong workforce. Following the event, the Department of Public Administration and Business Management and the Western Interregional Directorate of the NAPS agreed on further cooperation in the field of career guidance and graduate employment.

The National Agency of Ukraine for Civil Service (NACS) holds the annual nationwide event ‘Public Service Promotion Day’ to promote careers in government bodies and attract young, qualified staff. In the Lviv region, it is Lviv Ivan Franko National University that traditionally serves as the main venue for introducing young people to this initiative.
