Professional Development of Faculty Members of the Department of Public Administration and Business Management on the Topic “Innovative Teaching: From Design Thinking to Artificial Intelligence” by the NGO “PROGRESYLNI”
From October 28 to November 1, 2024, the faculty members of the Department of Public Administration and Business Management, Faculty of Finance and Business Management, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv – Professor Hanna Komarnytska, and Associate Professors Olena Gerasymenko, Halyna Dzyana, and Olena Reshota – successfully completed the professional development program titled “Innovative Teaching: From Design Thinking to Artificial Intelligence,” organized by the NGO “PROGRESYLNI.” This event became an important part of the educational development for the members of the public organization, which brings together educators, scientists, and public figures working to create a new quality of education in Ukraine.
The event featured welcoming speeches from: Bohdan Ferens, PhD in Pedagogical Sciences, founder of NGO “PROGRESYLNI”; Ivan Balikin, PhD in History, Associate Professor and co-founder of NGO “PROGRESYLNI”; Dmytro Chumachenko, PhD in Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Mathematical Modeling and Artificial Intelligence at the National Aerospace University of Ukraine “KhAI”; and Natalia Shevchenko, PhD in History, Associate Professor of the Department of International Relations and Social Sciences at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine.
Course participants attended a series of relevant lectures from highly qualified speakers on the following topics:
- “Design Thinking for Educators” – Bozhena (Bo) Kelestin;
- “Prompt Engineering for Learning” – Oleksandr Krakovetskyi;
- “Artificial Intelligence for Teaching” – Tetiana Zakharchenko;
- “Assessment in Higher Education: The Territory of ‘Sanctified Subjectivism,’ or How to Fill the 100-Point Scale with Meaning” – Vasyl Tereshchenko;
- “Interactive Lectures” – Artem Artyukhov;
- “Inclusive Design of the Discipline” – Lesia Kharitonenko;
- “The Art of Questions and Answers” – Olga Bershadska;
- “Trauma-Informed Teaching” – Anna Shyichuk.
Upon completing the professional development program and successfully solving test tasks, the faculty members received certificates worth 1 ECTS credit (30 hours). The knowledge and skills gained during the program will contribute to the implementation of innovative teaching methods in the educational process at the Department of Public Administration and Business Management, Faculty of Finance and Business Management, improving the quality of education, and effectively utilizing advanced technologies in teaching.
