Preparation and defence of course projects in cooperation with KPMG
On May 28, there was a public defence of team course projects of students of the “Financial Management” educational program in the Lviv office of the KPMG company. The event was the logical conclusion of a two-month pilot project of the Department of Financial Management, during which students studied the work and financial indicators of banks, insurance companies, and enterprises and developed recommendations for their improvement. Methodical recommendations for preparing the course project were designed with the KPMG company and foreign department partners from the Chemnitz University of Technology (Germany).
The commission included the guarantor of the “Financial Management” educational program, Doctor of Economics, Prof. Yulia Shushkova, PhD in Economics, Assoc. Prof. Olha Sych and PhD in Economics, Assoc. Prof. Iryna Yasinovska.
Mentors of the teams and the head of the Lviv office of KPMG-Ukraine Maksym Voytsekhovsky also listened to the teams’ performances.
Student youth presented the results of teamwork and answered numerous questions of the commission and those present. All teams successfully coped with the task, and the knowledge and experience shared by KPMG representatives strengthened the students’ research and helped present it appropriately.
Training future specialists in close communication with employers is an opportunity to bring the educational process closer to the requirements of the labour market, and for students to learn the skills of teamwork, communication, and presentation of research necessary for future successful employment.
The Department of Financial Management is grateful to the KPMG company and Maksym Voytsekhovsky for their participation in the project and plans for further activities in cooperation with the company.
