On October 3-4, 2024, the teaching staff of the Department of Financial Management, the head of the department, prof. Nataliya Sytnyk, professors Ulyana Vatamanyuk-Zelinska and Yuliya Shushkova, and associate professors Viktoriya Dubyk, Oksana Zakhidna, Lyubov Petyk, Olga Sych took part in the two-day Forum “Financial stability and economic development of communities”. The event became a unique platform that brought together representatives of local self-government bodies, experts in the field of local finance, Ukrainian and international banking and financial institutions, and the scientific community.
The purpose of the Forum is to make the listeners understand that, given the realities and challenges facing Ukraine, the financial stability, activity and capacity of local communities is the basis and almost the only recipe for the recovery and development of our state. The participants had a good opportunity to exchange opinions, listen to speeches and discuss many problems related to strengthening the financial basis of local self-government and the possibilities of attracting additional sources of financing for the economic development of local communities.
Important issues for discussion that interested those present were:
– Modern financial and credit instruments for local budgets for financing investment projects;
– Potential opportunities to increase the revenue part of local budgets;
– Directions of local finance development in the context of Ukraine’s integration into the EU.
The staff of the department sincerely thanks the organizers of the event, the Lviv City Council, the USAID Project “Increasing the efficiency and accountability of local self-government bodies – HOVERLA”, the “U-LEAD with Europe” program, the UNIDO project, for the invitation.
Such meetings contribute to the establishment of cooperation, the exchange of opinions and interesting ideas, and the implementation of joint ideas.
