Participation of Students from Group UFP-11s of the Educational and Professional Program “Public Administration and Business Management” in the Forum “Session 2025: Legislator” at the Lviv City Council
On April 25–26, 2025, first-year students of group UFP-11s, enrolled in the educational and professional program “Public Administration and Business Management” (group advisor – Associate Professor O. Reshota), actively participated in the youth forum “Session 2025: Legislator,” held for individuals aged 16–21. The event brought together young leaders eager to understand the principles of state governance and contribute to the development of modern legislation in Ukraine.
On the first day of the forum, April 25, activities took place at the Ukrainian Catholic University, where students attended lectures delivered by leading political scientists, economists, public administration experts, and Members of Parliament. The topics of the speeches covered current issues in politics, state-building, economic development, and effective governance, serving as a powerful intellectual stimulus for further work.
On the second day, April 26, in the premises of the Lviv City Council, participants took part in a simulation parliamentary game, allowing them to try out the role of legislators. During the simulation, students formed political factions, entered into coalitions and opposition, created and discussed draft laws, and held voting sessions in conditions as close as possible to real parliamentary procedures.
A particular point of pride was the development of a team legislative initiative titled “On the Innovative Development of the Education System through Digitalization and the Professional Development of Educators.” This initiative was proposed by a team of students from group UFP-11s.
As part of this draft law, the participants presented a strategic program entitled “Education 2030,” which envisions the comprehensive development of the education system through: the implementation of digital tools for schools and teachers; personalized educational trajectories for students; the advancement of critical thinking and STEAM education; the professional development of teachers, including through international internships; a mobile application “Mriya” aimed at enhancing student motivation through gamification and personalized learning experiences.
Participation in the forum and the legislative initiative provided students with hands-on experience of the lawmaking process, helped them develop strategic thinking, teamwork skills, and a deeper understanding of the role of public administration in educational policy. As future professionals in the field of public administration and management, they gained valuable analytical experience and realized the importance of cooperation between the state, educators, and the public for implementing effective change.
