Participation of higher education graduates of the OPP “Finance, Customs and Tax Affairs” in the event on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the founding of the magazine “Ukrainian Visnyk”

On May 23, 2024, applicants for higher education of the OPP “Finance, Customs and Tax Affairs” of the UFF-11s group (advisor – Doctor of Economics, Assoc. Oksana Zahidna) and the UFF-12s group (advisor – Doctor of Economics, Assoc. Prof. Victoria Dubyk) attended the event on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the founding of the unique social and political magazine “Ukrainian Visnyk”. The publisher and editor-in-chief of the publication was a Ukrainian politician, public figure, journalist, People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the I-III convocations, a member of the resistance movement against the assimilation and national discrimination of the Ukrainian People, political prisoner of the USSR Vyacheslav Chornovil.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Rector of Lviv University, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Professor Volodymyr Melnyk greeted the distinguished guests, members of Vyacheslav Chornovol’s group – Mykhailo Kosiv and Yaroslav Kendzor, who helped to publish the “Ukrainian Herald” during the times of totalitarian repression, at Lviv University, after which he spoke with a report in which he briefly characterized the political-ideological and moral-psychological situation in Ukraine during the Soviet occupation in the late 60s and early 70s of the last century.
All those present had the opportunity to hear the speeches of members of Vyacheslav Chornovol’s group, co-publishers of “Ukrainian Herald”. During the meeting, the awardees viewed archival video materials in which they traced the uniqueness, charisma and strength of the figure of Vyacheslav Chornovol and the significance of the magazine for Ukrainian history, as well as viewed unique archival videos about those people who were directly or indirectly involved in the publishing process of “Ukrainian Herald”.
