Participation of Academic Staff of the Department of Public Administration and Business Management in the Online Webinar “Artificial Intelligence in Education: Practical Examples and Tools”

Modern technologies, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), are significantly transforming the educational process by opening new opportunities for personalized learning, automating routine tasks, and enhancing teaching efficiency. Mastering AI application skills is a crucial step towards improving teaching methodologies and adapting to the demands of the digital age.

The academic staff of the Department of Public Administration and Business Management (Prof. Hanna Komarnytska, Prof. Borys Karpinskyi, Assoc. Prof. Olena Herasymenko, Assoc. Prof. Halyna Dziana, and Assoc. Prof. Olena Reshota) participated in an online professional development webinar for academic, pedagogical, and other staff of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv on the topic “Artificial Intelligence in Education: Practical Examples and Tools.” The event was organized by the Center for Quality Assurance in Education and the Department for Teaching Excellence at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.

The main objective of the webinar was to demonstrate the practical applications of AI in the educational process. During the four-hour event, speakers-experts in digital technologies Borys Pikalov (an innovator in high-end digital technologies, key analyst, and co-founder of the international company Stobox) and Vasyl Liashkevych (Ph.D. in Computer Science, Candidate of Technical Sciences)—shared their knowledge and practical experience in using AI in education.

The webinar program included:

  • Principles of modern generative AI;
  • Differences between effective AI users and others;
  • Demonstrations of AI applications for idea generation, material search, curriculum compliance analysis, syllabus development, and interactive exercise creation.

The event focused on the practical aspects of AI implementation in the educational process, including methodological support and interactive assignments. During the webinar, participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with best practices in AI utilization, such as interactive prompting and few-shot prompting.

The webinar became a key step in enhancing the professional competence of academic staff, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills for the effective integration of modern digital technologies into the educational process.
