Methodological seminar of the Department of Digital Economics and Business Analytics “Quality Education in a Modern University: Analysis of Teaching, Student Motivation, and Partnership with Employers”
On April 15, 2026, the Department of Digital Economics and Business Analytics held a methodological seminar on the topic “Quality Education in a Modern University: Analysis of Teaching, Student Motivation and Partnership with Employers”, dedicated to the current issues of improving the educational process and improving the quality of training of higher education applicants.
As part of the seminar, the head of the department, Professor Iryna SHEVCHUK, presented a report “Analysis of the Quality of Teaching of Disciplines”, in which she familiarized the participants with the results of a comprehensive analysis of the quality of teaching of disciplines of the master’s level educational program “Digital Economy”. It was noted that the assessment is carried out based on a combination of several complementary tools, in particular, surveys of education applicants, analysis of learning outcomes, mutual attendance of classes, as well as checking the compliance of educational components with program learning outcomes.
The analysis results showed a positive assessment by the students of the practice-oriented nature of the training, the use of cases, work with real data and the use of modern digital tools. Such approaches, as emphasized in the report, correspond to the focus of the educational program on approaches focused on data analysis and the current challenges of the digital economy. At the same time, a number of directions for further development were outlined, in particular, improving approaches to assessing learning outcomes, strengthening interdisciplinary integration, wider implementation of team projects and systematic updating of the content of disciplines in accordance with dynamic technological changes.
Deputy Head of the Department for Educational and Methodological Work, Associate Professor Iryna BORSCHUK, in her report “Effective Methods of Motivating Students in the Educational Process”, focused on modern pedagogical approaches to increasing the educational motivation of students. The seminar participants discussed the possibilities of using interactive technologies, case methods and practice-oriented learning, as well as the role of the teacher as a facilitator of the educational process, which creates a favorable environment for the active involvement of students and the development of their professional and soft skills.
A separate block of the seminar was devoted to issues of cooperation with employers. The Deputy Head of the Department for Organization and Conduct of Practice, Associate Professor Ihor ROMANICH, in his report “Quality Education in a Modern University: Analysis of Teaching, Student Motivation and Partnership with Employers” analyzed the main areas of partnership of the department with representatives of the business environment. He informed about the concluded cooperation agreements between the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and employer companies, and also emphasized the importance of regular joint events with stakeholders, which contribute to the acquisition of practical experience and relevant professional competencies by applicants.
Summing up the seminar, the participants noted the importance of a systematic analysis of the quality of teaching, constant updating of educational components, development of practice-oriented forms of training and active interaction with employers. The implementation of the developed approaches and recommendations will contribute to further improvement of the educational process in the educational and professional programs of the bachelor’s and master’s levels “Digital Economy”, increasing their relevance, practical orientation and compliance with modern labor market requirements.
