Department of Digital Economics and Business Analytics — co-organizer of the international student conference

On May 6, 2026, the Department of Digital Economics and Business Analytics of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv joined the organization and holding of the II International Scientific and Practical Conference of Higher Education Applicants “Youth in Modern Science: A Look into the Future”, which took place at the Leonid Yuzkov Khmelnytskyi University of Management and Law.
The organizers of the conference were the Khmelnytskyi Regional Council, the Leonid Yuzkov Khmelnytskyi University of Management and Law, the Yu.M. Potebnia Engineering Educational and Scientific Institute of Zaporizhzhia National University, the Department of Digital Economics and Business Analytics of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, the Ukrainian Marketing Association, as well as international partners from Poland – Akademia Handlowa Nauk Stosowanych w Radomiu and Międzynarodowa Akademia Nauk Stosowanych w Łomży.
The conference became a platform for scientific dialogue between young researchers, teachers and representatives of the academic community of Ukraine and abroad on topical issues of digital transformation of the economy, business analytics, management, finance, public administration and modern social challenges.
Head of the Department of Digital Economy and Business Analytics, Doctor of Economics, Professor Iryna SHEVCHUK joined the scientific committee of the conference and delivered a welcoming speech during the plenary session among representatives of the co-organizers of the event.
As part of the conference, Olena SHEVCHUK, a second (master’s) level higher education student at the ЕPP “Digital Economy” specialty C1 “Economics and International Economic Relations”, presented a scientific report on the topic: “DESI as a tool for assessing the digital transformation of the economy of Ukraine”. The study focused on the possibilities of adapting the Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI) to Ukrainian realities to assess the level of digital transformation of the economy in the face of modern challenges.
The participation of applicants in international scientific conferences is an important component of the formation of professional competencies of future specialists in the field of digital economy and business analytics. Such events contribute to the development of research, analytical and communication skills, form the ability to present the results of scientific research, participate in professional discussions and work with current issues of digital development of society and economy.
The Department of Digital Economy and Business Analytics continues to actively support the scientific activities of higher education applicants, their participation in international scientific events and the development of youth science in the context of digital transformation.
