Informational and educational conversation on the topic: “The moral component of the use of generative artificial intelligence – help to students and teachers, or a threat?”

September 26, 2024 for students of the 1st-4th years of the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education, as well as for students of the 1st-2nd years of the second (master’s) level of higher education under the educational and professional program “Information Technologies in Business » the teachers of the department of digital economy and business analytics held an informational and educational conversation on the topic: “The moral component of using generative artificial intelligence – help to the student and teacher, or a threat?”.

Head of the Department of Digital Economy and Business Analytics Prof. Iryna SHEVCHUK demonstrated to the listeners the practical aspects of using generative artificial intelligence tools, in particular regarding assistance in the work of a teacher of higher education institutions, as well as regarding the self-development and self-improvement of a student in the process of obtaining an education. Presentation of Prof. Iryna SHEVCHUK was built on specific examples of the use of AI in various cases from the economy, educational process, socio-economic life.

Assoc. Ihor ROMANICH of the department emphasized the ethical aspects of the use of AI in students’ final and teaching scientific works, the importance of references to the facts of the use of AI, the rules of such references. He also cited the advantages and positive examples of the use of AI by students of higher education institutions, which are beneficial in the educational process and do not violate the rules of academic integrity.
